Employee Communications Intern

Your role
We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join the Employee Communications and Engagement team for the summer (~10 weeks). The Employee Communications team is central to the global company and continually seeks to drive innovation in communicating with and engaging our team members around the world. This is a hybrid role, with the ability to work from home and at least two days on-site at our Dallas office to enable collaboration and training.
Who can apply Qualified candidates in their final two years of college or university University students who will be in the Dallas metro area for the summer of 2024 What you'll do
Help strategize and build internal communication content, including:
Write and post daily internal news articles on our intranet and intranet content development Edit and shoot videos and other media for internal distribution Assist in the development, launch, and enhancement of new platforms i.e. MSFT Viva Engage Help support efforts to simplify, enhance, and measure communications using new technologies/design Ad hoc support for the broader Employee Comms team
What you'll need
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications, Business, Media, English, or a related area of study Experience working with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Premiere Pro) A portfolio, website, or equivalent repository of previous work is preferable. Curiosity and desire to learn the core functions of employee communications and engagement Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Reliable form of transportation Knowledge of mass and alternative media and principles of interviewing, writing, and copy editing. Basic podcast, video, and social media skills desired. Experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro, Vimeo, TikTok, and LinkedIn is a plus.
