Job Description:
Copy-editing content for platforms within an internet-based program. Identifies and applies established style guides to non-conforming submissions. Native-level English fluency is required, and regional language fluency may be required. The Editor must be proficient in language nuances including grammar and journalism editing standards.
Responsibilities include verifying translations, making recommendations regarding reader comments, researching news content for sourcing, libel, and plagiarism compliance, monitoring regional press, identifying content propagation, analyzing reprinting sources, and executing technical tasks using locally developed tools for internet-based publications.
Additional tasks involve filling in for the Assignment Editor, building and maintaining the correspondent network, and coordinating article submissions and communication within the project network.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, or related discipline; significant experience may be accepted in lieu.
- Experience: 5+ years
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain DoD SECRET clearance (Secret Clearance or higher preferred)
- Skills and Abilities: Experience in writing, editing, and journalism is highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits: Likely salary range is $80,750 - $109,250, dependent on experience, location, and contractual factors. Benefits include 401K with company match, health and wellness packages, paid education and certifications, cutting-edge technology, paid vacation and holidays, and more.
