Platform Engineer for Data Visualization

Key qualifications include: Strong communication and presentation skills Willingness to collaborate with others Experience or interest in Hadoop and big data technologies (a plus) Excel VBA and plugin development experience (a plus) Familiarity with equity markets or the financial industry (a plus) The Aperio Platform Engineer will design and build solutions for processing large and unstructured data sets. The role involves working closely with portfolio managers and data scientists to understand data value and build data processing pipelines. The visualization focus will be on automating and enhancing data exploration tools, building frameworks for modeling teams, and delivering analysis efficiently. Responsibilities include: Building and supporting visualization and exploration capabilities around big data sets Collaborating in an Agile environment with business users and data scientists to discover and visualize data insights Staying updated on new technologies and conducting proof-of-concept evaluations Creating standards for data warehouses focused on reporting Promoting best practices for big data visualization within the firm
