Job Title: UX Engineer Location: San Jose (Hybrid) Duration: 5 months on W2 Pay Rate: $40 to $50 hrs. on W2

The Opportunity We're seeking a User Experience Engineer (UXE) contractor to drive innovative user experiences across our portfolio and join our design team. This role uniquely positions you at the intersection of design and technology, where you'll blend technical expertise with user experience principles to create intuitive, delightful interactions that enhance our products.
Core Responsibilities Design Audit resolution • Identify the nature of the issue and categorize the resolution effort • Help resolve large quantities of issues in a timely manner with the help of our more senior engineers.
Design Implementation & Prototyping • Translate design concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and functional prototypes • Create and iterate on rapid prototypes, from micro-interactions to complete workflows • Build and maintain platforms for showcasing prototypes both internally and to customers • Implement responsive, accessible, and performant UIs with careful attention to design fidelity • Optimize application performance and scalability while maintaining design integrity
Cross-functional Collaboration • Serve as a liaison between Design and Engineering teams • Participate in fit and finish reviews to ensure seamless communication • Work closely with UX/UI Designers and researchers to validate design concept • Educate engineering teams about Design System best practices and accessibility standards
Required Qualification • 3+ years of UI/Front End development experience • Expert knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 • Strong experience with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks • Proficiency with CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less, Stylus) • Demonstrated experience with Git and package managers (NPM/Yarn) • Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and accessibility standards • Working knowledge of design tools (Figma, Sketch, Illustrator) • Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills • Portfolio demonstrating both technical proficiency and design sensibility
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with advanced layout techniques (CSS Grid, Flexbox) • Proficiency with data visualization libraries (D3.js) • Knowledge of React ecosystem (Hooks, Redux, Router) • Experience with modern build tools (Webpack) and CI/CD pipelines • Expertise in animations (CSS, SVG, Lottie) • Background in unit testing and visual regression testing • Understanding of backend technologies and RESTful APIs • Experience with cloud databases and serverless architectures
Educational Background Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. We value diverse educational backgrounds that demonstrate both technical capability and design thinking
