Overview
We are is seeking a skilled
Instrumentation & Control System Designer
for a leading client in the
Oil & Gas, Refining and Chemicals industries.
The ideal candidate will have
5–10+ years of experience
in designing
instrumentation and control systems , with strong proficiency in
2D AutoCAD and Excel . Experience with
MicroStation, CADWorx, BlueBeam, and Access
is a plus.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with
engineering teams
to develop and refine
instrumentation and control system designs . Oversee
design processes , ensuring accuracy, quality control, and adherence to project deadlines. Interpret and modify
P&IDs, interlock schematics, and motor schematics . Develop
wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, demo packages, I/O loading plans, junction boxes, marshalling panels, and DCS/PLC cabinets with BOMs . Create
instrument installation details
and generate
material take-offs
to support project estimates. Design
conduit and cable tray layouts , ensuring proper support details and sizing based on
industry codes and client standards . Apply
low-voltage electrical knowledge
for instrumentation, including
120 VAC & 24 VDC power distribution, instrument power panels, and NEC grounding/bonding compliance . Conduct
field surveys
and assist in planning/executing
hot/cold cutovers . Maintain a
proactive, self-motivated approach , ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards with minimal supervision. Work with
fiber optic routing and general fiber optic principles
as required.
Qualifications & Skills: 5–10+ years
of experience in
Instrumentation & Control System Design
for
Oil & Gas Refineries and Chemical Plants . Proficiency in
2D AutoCAD and Excel
(MicroStation, CADWorx, BlueBeam, and Access are preferred). Strong leadership in
design team coordination
and
technical direction . Solid understanding of
industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices . Excellent
problem-solving, time management, and client interaction skills .
