Description
The position's anticipated start date is September 15, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, shades and screens, advanced lighting controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation and programming.
- Communicate with customers to review work orders, answer questions professionally.
- Instruct and train customers/end users on system functions and operation.
- Have in-depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements.
- Understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Qolsys, etc.).
- Handle after-hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation).
- Create and edit Control4 IR Drivers.
- Install and program shades and screens.
- Have tools and experience needed to terminate multimode fiber ends.
- Calibrate advanced projectors and receivers for optimal video and sound.
- Resolve technical issues independently.
- Perform duties of Trim Tech II/III and A/V Security Technician II as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education
- Minimum 3 years of experience with security and/or A/V installations.
- Active Control4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications through SnapAV required.
- Active Control4 PCNA Certification preferred.
- Centralized Lighting Certification preferred.
- Lutron Lighting Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of cable types and technologies.
- Ability to assess system design and functionality accurately.
- Knowledge of networking setup including routers, switches, DVRs, WAPs, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments.
- Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
- Clear MVR required.
- Technical or vocational schooling preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, talk, hear regularly.
- Use step and extension ladders frequently.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly; occasional lifts up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment
- Active construction sites.
- Exposure to temperature, humidity, dust.
