IAH Studio, a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting BIPOC string musicians through accessible education and cultural programming, proudly presents the 9th annual Ode to the Black Fiddler Music Festival, taking place on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at The Bronx Brewery. We’re seeking dependable, passionate volunteers to help us deliver a vibrant, community-centered event. Responsibilities
- Community Outreach: Distribute flyers and promotional materials in designated Bronx neighborhoods and community hubs
- Street Team Support: Represent the festival at partner events and public spaces to raise awareness and increase attendance
- Storage & Prep Logistics: Assist with organizing, assembling, and moving items from storage to studio/event venues in advance of the festival
- Administrative Support: Help with data entry, email outreach, and light clerical tasks during the planning period
- Event Materials Prep: Assemble merchandise, informational packets, volunteer badges, or signage for event day
- On-Site Event Support: Help with setup, vendor coordination, guest greeting, and general production assistance during the festival
- Breakdown & Clean-up: Participate in post-event packing, inventory checks, and venue clean-up
- Team Communication: Maintain reliable communication with the festival lead and respond promptly to task assignments or schedule changes
Qualifications
- Ages 18–25 at time of application
- Strong interest in community events, arts, education, or event production
- Dependable and self-motivated, with the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on time
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in public-facing roles
- Comfortable performing light physical work (e.g., lifting boxes, standing for extended periods, assisting with setup/breakdown)
- Willing to work both independently and as part of a team
- Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred, especially in the month leading up to the festival
- Prior experience with event staffing, outreach, or logistics is a plus but not required
- Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and a willingness to learn
** Please note: This is an unpaid volunteer role. Volunteers will receive official Ode to the Black Fiddler Music Festival gear and a $20 meal stipend ***
