Content Summary: Senior Videographer at Washington, for Eternal Word Television Network Washington, DC 750 1st St NE Suite 1100 Washington, DC 20002, USA Location: Washington, DC ( Not Remote Eligible ) HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE: The Senior Videographer manages the EWTN News videographers and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day and long-term coverage of Capitol Hill, White House, and field videography for news programming based in Washington, D.C. This position also covers EWTN News Nightly’s daily coverage and is based in the field at the Capitol; responsible for shooting the nightly Capitol Hill live or live-to-tape segment. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Oversee scheduling of videographers to serve EWTN News Nightly, EWTN News in Depth, EWTN Pro Life Weekly, and other shows as necessary. Collaborate with producers and executive producers to meet production needs of individual shows. Train, develop, and manage Videographer staff, ensuring the highest quality production possible. Schedule and maintain a strong list of freelance videographers for field productions and to cover for the in-house team. Support the studio production staff booking freelance services for field productions when necessary. Shoot general assignment, political, and feature news stories; perform basic editing of packages. Professionally light reporters and guests; keep up with changing trends and creative options. Operate live shot and streaming video equipment like LiveU. Assist the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager with managing and maintaining field production equipment. Drive ENN crew vehicles; set up and operate remote productions; troubleshoot issues when necessary. Occasionally assist in the control room during large show productions (robotics, tape operator, teleprompter, floor directing). ABOUT YOU: You have a minimum of 5-7 years of broadcast news field experience with at least 2 years working as a team lead or in a management role; prior experience managing remote/field staff is preferred. Your editing capacity is strongly preferred and will be requested as a learned skill for basic field editing. You have prior experience working with control room equipment (robotics, tape operator, teleprompter, etc.) and are proficient working with LiveU or a similar platform. You have demonstrated photography skills in a multi-media newsroom with a strong working knowledge of location lighting techniques. You are tech-savvy and well informed about the latest digital and linear broadcast technology. You have prior experience working in Avid Media Composer or comparable professional editing systems for field editing and working with multiple tape formats. Your ability to pass a White House and Capitol Hill background check and maintain credentials is required. You possess a working knowledge of the Catholic faith and the EWTN mission. You possess a valid State-issued driver’s license and safe driving record with the ability to drive an EWTN vehicle daily to and from sites. You are able to lift and carry broadcast equipment up to 45 pounds and successfully function as a member of the office’s “Essential Team”, including during inclement weather; flexibility on work schedule; some nights and weekends will be required; you are able to travel domestically and internationally periodically in consideration of breaking news and special events as needed.
