What's the role?
The Senior Field Communications Specialist works with the Field Communications team to help coordinate and implement communication programs, initiatives, and campaigns that align with Northwestern Mutual's strategic communication priorities. You’ll work with a variety of business partners in the Wealth & Advisor Solutions departments to understand business objectives, and then build and deliver communication plans that inform, educate and influence field leaders, advisors and teams, as well as other stakeholders.
You’ll help define communication objectives, determine delivery strategies, and create assets (communication plans, talking points, articles, videos, and presentations) that build awareness and understanding. Through close collaboration with colleagues and target audiences, you’ll brainstorm innovative communication ideas and approaches and demonstrate effectiveness through measurement and program assessment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Plans, manages and implements communication programs and projects.
- Works on increasingly complex programs, initiatives, and campaigns that are already established with some degree of planning complexity and scope.
- Manages and executes communications tactics for critical Wealth Management Company quarterly resources.
- Coordinates directly with partners in Wealth, Product Marketing, Advisor Solutions and Strategic Communications to ensure alignment of communications plans, deliverables, and timelines
- Identifies metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication and assess the return on communication investment.
- Recommends, develops, implements and maintains communication standards for department. Assures that quality standards are present in departmental communications.
- Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 or more years of experience in communication field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to tell compelling stories through various communications channels.
- Ability to absorb information and convert to an understandable format.
- Ability to solve problems and analyze possible solutions to make business decisions.
- PowerPoint design skills desired.
