Or you might be someone who has done both—and is simply craving a new challenge. Requirements If this sounds like you, here are the criteria to apply: At least five years working as an editor. You must also be currently working as an editor at a newspaper, magazine, news show, or other outlet. A background that demonstrates you have worked on tight deadlines and can do work that is both excellent and fast. A passion for The Free Press: you’ve read our stories, you understand our mission, and you know just how you can bring value to our team. An ability to coach writers—especially writers just getting started in their careers—helping them deliver their best work. Eagerness to work in a start-up environment. You aren’t just breaking news; you are building a newsroom. Our team is composed of people who are enthusiastic, nimble, and collaborative. Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 a year. Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of this range, taking into account experience.
