Position Summary:
Inizio Evoke is seeking a Lead Editor to join the team. Our editors are key partners to account and creative teams, playing a vital role in the execution of marketing projects for our major pharmaceutical clients. They collaborate closely with both their editorial colleagues—ensuring balanced workloads and mutual support—and the creative team to address feedback and develop effective solutions. This role is fully remote and reports to the Editorial Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Execute detailed editorial reviews, including copyediting, proofreading, fact-checking, and cross-referencing clinical data for pharmaceutical marketing materials.
- Edit and refine HCP- and patient-facing materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure consistency in grammar, style, and branding, adhering to AMA Manual of Style (11th Edition), client guidelines, and internal style guides.
- Manage editorial workflows, prioritizing multiple projects and adapting to changing deadlines in a fast-paced agency setting.
- Monitor, track, and help implement Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) teams feedback to ensure consistency across all pieces.
- Work closely with creative, strategy, and account teams to refine messaging, provide editorial feedback, and ensure seamless project execution.
- Apply health literacy and plain language principles to patient materials, ensuring content is accessible and understandable.
- Oversee the editorial review of multichannel content, including print, web, email, social media, and e-learning materials.
- Leverage technology such as Ziflow, Microsoft Office Suite, Box, and Adobe Acrobat to streamline editorial workflows and maintain version control.
- Mentor junior editors, contributing to team training, process improvements, and best practices in medical editing.
- Maintain editorial style guides and reference materials for assigned brands, ensuring accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
- Expertise in medical editing with a deep understanding of AMA Manual of Style (11th Edition), medical terminology, and pharmaceutical industry conventions.
- Strong regulatory knowledge.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with proven ability to fact-check clinical references, verify data accuracy, and ensure compliance in promotional materials.
- Proficiency in editing both HCP- and patient-facing materials, applying health literacy and plain language principles as needed.
- Ability to work across multiple content formats, including print, digital, web, email, and social media.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with creative, account, strategy, and regulatory teams.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset, with the ability to anticipate editorial challenges and suggest solutions.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with strong project management and prioritization skills.
- Technical proficiency in Ziflow, Microsoft Office, Box, and Adobe Acrobat for content review and approval workflows.
- Leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience training junior editors and refining editorial processes for efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of agency experience editing pharmaceutical content, including materials for both healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients.
- Prior experience working in a medical communications, healthcare advertising, or pharmaceutical marketing agency preferred.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. Compensation:
$80,000 — $110,000 USD
