TRACR Target Radio Technician - KUWAIT

V2X has a requirement for a TRACR Target Radio Technician to program and maintain Radio Control Units (RCUs), and interface with Targetry Range Automated Control and Recording (TRACR) computer equipment. The technician will report to the Range Support Supervisor and ensure range support for successful gunnery/range training events. Responsibilities include identifying technical issues, restoring functionality, and supporting TRACR-enabled ranges in Kuwait. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with proof of citizenship and a current U.S. passport.
Required Hours
Standard work week: six days per week, up to 8 hours/day at OCONUS sites; 40 hours/week at CONUS sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain TTS/RCUs, TRACR systems, and related equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance, facilitate tracking, and process work orders.
- Program RF equipment for range networks controlled by TRACR.
- Support range activities, ensure readiness for training.
- Collaborate with internal and external SMEs for technical support.
- Prepare, stage, service, and repair TTS/RCU equipment daily.
- Operate and troubleshoot radio communication systems.
- Use test equipment for repairs and adjustments.
- Review schedules, prepare reports, and maintain records.
- Work independently, contribute to team efforts, and train personnel as needed.
- Identify efficiencies to reduce costs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of TTS/RCU targeting equipment, firmware, networking.
- Knowledge of Wireless LAN systems.
- Experience with Army maintenance TTPs.
- Familiarity with weapons systems in ABCT units.
- Experience with range operations at major training sites.
- Understanding of U.S. Army Range safety (DA PAM 385-63).
- Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, work independently.
- Ability to navigate terrain using military maps.
- Willingness to work/live in Kuwait.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain US Government and Kuwait driver’s licenses.
- US citizenship, active Secret security clearance after start, US passport (2+ years validity), and ability to obtain a CAC.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a Battalion/Brigade gunner, planning gunnery scenarios.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with US government contracts in SW Asia.
- Knowledge of military training methodologies and technical schematics.
- Good organizational skills.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Training, Management, Business, or related field + 4 years’ experience, or 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
Physical Demands
Regular use of hands, lifting up to 50 lbs, working in extreme weather conditions, and wearing safety gear. Work is unaccompanied and in accordance with policies. Must obtain U.S. SECRET clearance.
