Whale Light Films, a new nonprofit film production company based in Santa Fe, is seeking a Lead Producer for our upcoming short film project, Seijaku.
We understand that the producer’s role in indie filmmaking can vary widely—so here’s what we’re looking for.
Above all, our Lead Producer will help make this film financially viable and possible. That means working closely with our co-directors and team to plan and implement a multi-faceted funding strategy, responsive to the evolving nature of this project. That might include crowdfunding, grants, low- or no-interest loans, donations, and other creative funding streams—whatever best serves the project as it grows.
While the creative decisions will rest ultimately with the co-directors, your voice as producer will be welcomed on the creative side. At Whale Light Films, we treat filmmaking as one of the world’s most collaborative art forms. Everyone we work with will be deeply heard and respected as a creative collaborator.
