As a Motion Graphics Artist at The Initiative, you will have the opportunity to develop cutting edge Motion Graphics & visual effects for a truly exciting AAA project.
The Initiative is seeking a creative and highly motivated Motion Graphics Artist. You will work alongside the UI/UX Director & Art Director to pioneer world class motion graphics for futuristic/sci-fi Augmented Reality assets. In this position, you will be responsible for defining our AR visual identity and developing the style guide for a core pillar of the project.

Job Type: Contract
Salary: $38 - 48 per hour
Work Hours: 8am to 5pm
Education: Bachelors
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the UI/UX Director to create industry leading Motion Graphics and visual effects, working from initial design ideation through to final integration in engine.
- Design cutting edge Motion Graphics that support the project core vision, world building & product goals.
- Work closely with Engineers and Tech team to drive and define implementation solutions and pipelines to a meticulous standard.
- An obsessive eye for detail and excellence.
- Drive the development of Style Guides and Process Guides.
- Communicate proactively and effectively in portfolio reviews with key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience designing world class Motion Graphics for game/film or media industry.
- A Portfolio that showcases a breadth of experience and talent in cutting edge Motion Graphics.
- Extensive experience skillset in Motion Graphics development and pipelines.
- Extensive experience with industry leading motion graphic software (After Effects etc).
- Experience with industry leading 3D software packages (Maya, Cinema 4D, 3DS Max etc).
- Experience with visual development software tools (Photoshop, Illustrator etc).
- A strong and proven skillset using color theory, composition, layout, typography, and iconography.
- A strong passion for both playing and developing games.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and articulate ideas clearly.
- Autonomous and pro-active in your work, requiring minimal management overhead.
