Position Summary
The Department of Art at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in Studio Art, three-dimensional media. MSU Denver is NASAD accredited and offers study in interdisciplinary artistic practices as well as media-specific coursework. The successful candidate will be interested in teaching classes that contribute to the contemporary focus of our Studio Art program.
Responsibilities
- Teach one to three classes in studio foundations, ceramics, jewelry and metalsmithing, sculpture, or other media as appropriate. Classes may be offered in person, remote, or hybrid.
- Deliver course content, prepare materials, grade student work, and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain office hours and adhere to university, college, and department policies.
- Comply with university evaluation and peer observation policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA in Art
- Three years of professional and/or teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- BA in Art with recognition and experience, or MA/MFA in Art with relevant experience.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
Terms of Employment
Part-time, on a per credit hour basis, without benefits. Teaching is contingent on budget and enrollment. Candidates must be able to teach in person upon hire.
