The User Experience (UX) Group in San Diego has an opening for an intern. We are looking for a researcher with passion for user experience and consumer products who will support our senior usability researchers.
The ideal candidate is currently studying cognitive science, HCI or related field and has basic understanding of conducting user centered design & research
Responsibilities
- Support planning and conducting usability studies to evaluate new and existing products, and making constructive suggestions for change.
- Conduct benchmarking studies of competitor products from a human interface standpoint.
- Coordinate & schedule usability test with participants including deploying recruiting survey
- Generate new ideas or recommendation to fix the problem from the finding
Requirements:
- Currently studying Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or related coursework with a graduation date of 2024 or 2025
- Must be able to work at least 32 hours per week
- Must be able to work in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) office lab, as needed
- Conduct user centered research activities
Desired Skills:
- Ability to focus on the customer's needs
- Knowledge of basic interaction design/user-centered design principles
- Familiarity with UI industry standards for interface design and user testing methodologies
- Some experience with statistical analysis of user research
- Working knowledge of documentation tool for specification documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organization skills and handling of multiple email communications
- Ability to collaborate and work as a team
- Understanding for multi cultures
The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $24.00 to $36.00. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base wage offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
