The UofL Physicians Marketing and Communication Department is seeking a detail-oriented, highly-motivated intern interested in health care. Working under the direction of the Internal and Digital Communications Administrator, the intern will have opportunities to assist in website content management, social media, community events, internal communications, public relations and advertising. The summer internship places a large focus on event planning. Projects may be assigned according to the interns interests and skills.
The department runs as the in-house advertising agency for all of the UofL Physicians clinical practices, including over 700 providers and 78 specialties. For more information on UofL Physicians, visit www.UofLphysicians.com.
Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities:
- A large focus of the summer internship is on event planning. The intern will assist in planning our summer employee event and coordinate related projects. The intern will also help plan and attend a series of UMC-employee events and several health fairs throughout the summer.
- Evaluate and develop ideas for marketing opportunities and generating new content through social media
- Write articles for our blog, internal newsletter, email newsletters to physicians and patients
- Assist in updating and maintaining the websites for UofL Physicians and UMC entities
- Assist in other UMC transition-related projects
- Create reports from website data
- Other duties as assigned according to interests and talent. This intern will gain experience in all elements of marketing and communications efforts, including website, social media, internal communications, strategic communications, and marketing.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Working toward a degree or a recent graduate in Marketing, Communication or related field
- Ability to focus on the small details in a large project
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Organized
- Good with time management and wont miss a deadline
Other Requirements:
- Applicants should be available 10-15 hours per week on a regular schedule
- Reliable transportation to and from the office
