JOB TITLE: VIDEO TELECONFERENCE TECHNICIAN
JOB PURPOSE: The Video Teleconference Technician operates video teleconferencing equipment, including powering up teleconferencing equipment, checking equipment for proper operation, setting audio levels, positioning camera functions, performing secure or non-secure setup, operating or assisting in operating session control panel and studio control unit, and high-resolution graphics. Job tasks require this technician to assist users in video teleconference sessions, including conference preparation, monitoring VTC equipment and system performance, and reporting equipment and network problems to appropriate parties for maintenance or repair.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interface with external agencies (such as the Air Force Enterprise Service Desk) to resolve technical issues impacting directorate/unit users.
- Provide support for HQ AETC-controlled Video Teleconference (VTC) assets, which includes equipment support only.
- Run slides, provide VTC dial-in support, and maintain oversight of the VTC equipment throughout a conference.
- Be available in the event of an equipment emergency.
- Notify supervisors when major equipment repairs are needed.
- Diagnose and resolve media system problems.
- Direct and coordinate activities of assistants and other personnel during production.
- Compress, digitize, duplicate, and store audio and video data.
- Install, adjust, and operate electronic equipment to record, edit, and transmit radio and television programs, motion pictures, video conferencing, or multimedia presentations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure, server hardware and software platforms and related support tools.
- Knowledgeable in video teleconference (VTC) projection systems and associated sub-system software.
- Minimum of "Intermediate" proficiency level certification IAW DoDM 8140.03, Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program.
- Active Secret Clearance.
EDUCATION: High School or greater.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) to five (5) years or greater in relevant work position experience with mobile device support to include, but not limited to, laptops, Slates, Personal Digital Assistants, and cell phones.
