SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Image Library Representative position is to upload and digitize various digital and analog media into the Picture, Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for interpretation , comparison and storage. Access PACS storage , and copy images to CD-ROM, film , etc. Have a working knowledge of procedure modalities and imaging software to extract images from one media to the other.
Shift / Hours: Monday - Friday / 10 am - 6:30pm
KEY FUNCTIONS
1. E valuate a nd prop er l y format a ll outs id e im aging st u d ies for clinical u s e . Has a g e neral u nder st anding o f topographical anatom y .
2. Validate and i s familiar with a ll clin ica l ima ging modalities fo r t he pr o per di stri b ut i on of s tudies thr o ugh Di ag n ostic Imagin g 's inf ormation sys tems (e.g. RIS , PACS ).
3. Coordinate the a ppropri ate se qu e n cing of a ll mammography film hanging protoc ols for radi o l ogist
eva l u at io n s .
4. Co ll a borate with multidi scip lina ry care ce n ters to optim ize the ur gent and routine flow of patient outsi de imaging st u die s.
5. Faci lit a te the delivery a nd pur ge of outs id e ima g in g s tudie s in acco r dance with departmental p o li cy.
6. Provide direct patient assistance thr o u g h the rele ase of imaging st udi es and s igned cl in ical reports.
7. C o ll a borate with MD Ander so n’s l ega l department to form a t and di str ibut e imaging st udies fo r l ega l firms or s ubpoen as r e qu est in g patient medic a l information.
8. Gree t and communicate effectively w ith patient s , family member s , fac u l ty, and other s t aff upon arriva l to the Release of Medical Infor m atio n offices l ocated in the Ma in hospital and ACB .
9. Respo n sible for th e security an d confidentia li ty of patient information a t all times.
10. Other duties as assigne d .
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Requir e d: H i gh schoo l diploma o r equivalent.
Pr efe rr ed: Associates De gre e or Bache l or's Degree.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Required: none
Preferred: Certified PACS Associate (Technical or Clinical )
EXPERIENCE
Required: Three years of PACS, HIM , or general administrative experience.
Preferred:Experience with imaging software and equipment, and has a general understanding of topographical anatomy.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
