Overview
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for an instructional designer to create and improve the design, development and delivery of courses across modalities; research and apply best practices and contemporary data analysis for digital teaching and learning; and ensure a high level of course quality to facilitate student learning.
Essential Duties
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.
- Collaborates and communicates with faculty, subject matter experts, instructional technologists and other stakeholders regarding designing, developing, training, implementing, evaluating and optimizing program and course offerings; provides quick turnaround and project deployment of effective and accessible instruction; and monitors and incorporates digital teaching and learning developments and trends
- Develops and facilitates distance education and digital archive plans for all credit and CEWD programs
- Contributes to the development of policies for distance education; maintains a Distance Education Policy Manual that includes periodic course reviews, quality standards and College expectations, and serves on select committees and task forces
- Designs and develops interactive learning content, including learning objectives, simulations scenarios, media and valid/reliable assessments, and provides Open Educational Resources (OER) oversight
- Facilitates course reviews
- Contributes to the annual and five-year comprehensive department assessment process as per the College assessment plan
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology or relevant field
- Two years of experience in instructional design focused on distance learning, educational technology, and creation and preparation of learning materials using a learning management system
- Intermediate to advanced skills using a range of technologies to develop dynamic pedagogically-sound, and technologically appropriate live, online and hybrid courses
- Effective skills in project management, organization, technology use and teamwork, with an emphasis on quality and student satisfaction
- Valid driver's license
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess a master’s degree and experience working in higher education
Supplemental Information
This is a full-time standard administrative position. Days and Hours of work are Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (1 hour lunch). The starting salary for this position ranges from $73,400 to approximately $89,950 and depends on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
