Responsible for creating original technical design packages based on designers' creative designs for both development & production.Maintaining, grading styles and updating technical pack files for work in process styles (style development files, etc.).Work closely to support technical design department: women's and men's divisions.Work closely with technical design director and production team to record sample status during all stages of development and approval processes - Proto, Fit, PP, TOP.Daily communications with offshore factories and internal cross-functional members to address and troubleshoot garment fit, construction and/or workmanship issues throughout the garment life cycle.Attend live fittings alongside the design team and document detailed fit notes to communicate any revisions/updates in Fit comments released to factories.Attend Design hand-off meetings to create Development and Production tech packs on new styles/designs - from prototype stages to final production stages.Help to maintain Design/Tech Fabric and Trim approvals (lab dips/bulks/strike offs/samples).Report to Senior Tech Designer.Requirements
Associate Degree or related work experience in Fashion Design / Technical Design.Minimum of 3-5 years experience in technical design; activewear experience a plus.Strong knowledge in garment specs, bill of materials and garment construction is a must. Experience in building technical design packages for overseas factories to use in developing & producing garments.Pattern-making knowledge is a plus.Exceptional attention to design and garment details.Ability to multitask and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Must be highly organized; able to take direction and work independently.Must be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Suites (Illustrator and Photoshop), Pattern Software (not required but a plus).Portfolio (tech packs) to support experience.Salary Range: $65,000 - $78,000 annually.
