$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 (Range applies to US candidates only) + Benefits/Variable Comp./Equity - Range may vary based on experience.
ABOUT THE JOB We are looking for an Associate Technical Writer to join our Product Management Documentation team. In this position, you will review new features and solutions with our Product Management, Development, QA, and Technical Writing teams to create product documentation and additional materials including user reference guides, design guides, installation manuals, help documents, and videos. This position requires effective planning, scheduling, research, and writing skills. Travel requirements for this position are quite minimal.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Development, Quality Assurance, and Product Management teams to understand OneStream software features to translate them into user documentation.
Produce documentation which conveys complex technical ideas to a potentially non-technical audience.
Ensure all documentation follows proper publishing and grammar standards.
Produce release notes, installation instructions, upgrade guides, and help documentation for major releases.
Support the Technical Writing team initiatives including rewriting existing documentation.
Create videos for release launches and inclusion in documentation.
QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE We are looking for someone who is passionate about writing. You do not need to be an expert in the software development lifecycle, financial reporting & budgeting systems, databases, programming languages, APIs and the like. However, previous exposure is expected to be successful in this realm.
Formal Education and Certification
BA/BS Degree in English, Technical Communications, Technical Writing, Communications, or Journalism. Exposure to Information Technology, Accounting, or Finance is a plus.
Knowledge and Experience
0 - 3 years of relevant experience or schooling.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Office 365, Madcap Flare, Camtasia or other industry-leading tools to develop and manage content.
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Familiarity with accounting terms and systems is a plus.
