Summary Of Position:
A K-12 multimedia teacher plays a crucial role in preparing students for a tech-driven world by fostering creativity, critical thinking, and digital communication skills. The K-12 multimedia teacher is responsible for instructing students on the creation and utilization of various multimedia formats like video, audio, graphics, animation, and interactive elements, using specialized software and technology, to enhance learning experiences across different subjects, while developing students' digital art skills and creative thinking abilities.

Duties And Responsibilities:
- Teach multimedia skills by instructing students on using software like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Canva, and other multimedia tools.
- Integrate technology in education by enabling students to create digital presentations, videos, and graphics for various subjects.
- Develop curriculum by designing lessons that incorporate multimedia production, digital storytelling, and creative expression.
- Encourage digital literacy by teaching students how to analyze, create, and responsibly use digital media.
- Facilitate hands-on projects by guiding students in creating multimedia projects.
- Collaborate with other content areas by assisting teachers in incorporating multimedia into their lesson plans.
- Keep up to date with new software and multimedia trends to enhance classroom experiences.
- Prepare lesson plans and establish course goals.
- Provide individual and group instruction.
- Teach a combination of virtual visual and digital art classes and workshops.
- Teach and support multimedia art at in-person school events and art labs held in the field.
- Plan and facilitate opportunities to expose K-12 students to visual and digital arts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Software knowledge related to multimedia such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Canva.
- Knowledge of various learning modalities and educational philosophies.
- Knowledge of effective strategies, curriculum, and instruction to support all students.
- Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and educational programs.
- Professional oral and written communication skills in English, including academic report writing.
- Must be able to maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in using technology in an educational setting to include a variety of software applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google (docs, sheets, forms, drives), and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Chat, etc.).
- Ability to organize, prioritize, work under time constraints, and be flexible in an environment of multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Must have a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and dependability.
- Ability to respond to calls, emails, and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Must live in the Northern California, Sacramento area.
Education, Experience, And Licensing Requirements:
- Valid California Teaching Credential.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Experience teaching multimedia and digital arts in a virtual setting preferred.
- Experience with Canvas and Google Suite preferred.
- Experience with web-based content management systems, video optimization, and archival techniques preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
