This contract position is ideal for professionals with expertise in orientation, mobility and instruction for visually impaired students. The school seeks dedicated individuals to support its students' unique needs through tailored mobility and educational strategies.
Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and/or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) in Washington State
- Experience working with K-12 age groups
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of current best practices in orientation and mobility and visual impairment education
Location: Everett, WA
Responsibilities:
- Provide orientation and mobility assessments and training for students
- Collaborate with educational staff to create and adjust IEP goals related to mobility
- Develop personalized mobility plans and strategies for students
- Deliver instruction as a teacher for the visually impaired three days a week, focusing on adaptive techniques and learning strategies
- Maintain documentation of services provided and student progress
