SSL.com is looking for a technical writer/editor and content manager to join our Product Development and Marketing teams. SSL.com is a publicly trusted certificate authority providing public key infrastructure products and related trust services. We work in a highly collaborative environment with a continuous goal of delivering high-quality digital certificate, encryption and cloud signing services to our customers. A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical users as well as provide technical documentation.

Position Summary
As a technical writer, you will be responsible for product documentation aimed at a variety of audiences. For example, you could be updating API guides for engineers on one project and producing cloud signing guides for legal professionals the next.
You will develop and maintain software user guides, administrative guides, and development guides as well as white papers and more marketing-focused content. You will work closely with product managers, marketers, support staff and others to ensure that documentation is thorough but understandable.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with internal teams to develop an understanding of the organizational needs; research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content
- Write and edit customer-facing user guides for existing and new features
- Develop administrative guides to be used by product, support, sales and other teams
- Create and maintain customer-facing technical documentation
- Independently conduct research necessary to produce content
- Meet with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and clarity of documentation
- Innovate content delivery and workflow solutions
- Analyze and identify gaps in current documentation
Requirements
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts in easily understandable language
- Outstanding investigative research abilities
- Willingness to take initiative in learning the technical aspects of our product
- Experienced working with geographically separated teams
- Skilled at multitasking and handing changing priorities
- Experience producing content for software products, engineering services, cybersecurity or related technical disciplines
- 2-4 years of experience as a technical writer
Preferred Skills and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree, in a technical field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a Communication / Marketing-related degree with related technical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Software Development; working with engineers
- 2+ years of experience in Technical Writing of software documentation
- Previous experience creating long-form white papers
- Content marketing experience is a plus
- Familiarity with website analytics, SEO and social media marketing
- Previous experience with digital certificates, encryption services or public key infrastructure a big plus
