$59,541.00 - $89,313.00 DOE*

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the identification, coordination and preparation of grant proposals to various entities including but not limited to federal, state and local governments, foundations, corporations and non-profit organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Language, Communication, Business Administration or Public Administration; plus four (4) years of directly related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate, write, and submit grant applications.
- Research and identify new grant funding opportunities and approaches.
- Perform various general grant administration functions such as budget amendments, plan change, program evaluation etc.
- Process and maintain grants agreements, awards and amendments documentation.
- Communicate grant timeframe, milestones, and reporting schedules to appropriate grantees.
- Work with programs to gather data for reports and ensure that proper records are maintained.
- Develop, in conjunction with the Department Administration, grant administration policies and procedures in accordance with state, local and federal regulations.
- Coordinate general information and reporting on all grants applied or awarded.
- Assist with the development of grant budgets.
- Perform data entry into the schedule of expenditures of federal awards (SEFA) for preparation of the single audit.
- Perform grant-related purchasing functions that involve processing purchase requests, verifying invoices, processing payments to vendors, maintaining documentation, and assisting other staff with purchasing activities.

Knowledge of:
- Grant writing including but not limited to local and state government grants, federal funding requests, and funding requests to private corporations and non-profit organizations.
- Accounting, budget management and fiscal principles and methods.
- General office procedures and methods.
- Communication principles, methods and techniques.
Skills and Abilities to:
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other related office and professional software as required.
- Exhibit excellent written, verbal, organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills.
- Analyze and systematically compile technical and statistical information to prepare reports and correspondence.
- Plan, prioritize, organize and follow through effectively.
- Review policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong customer service focus.
