Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Technical Writer to join our team. This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing all documentation for both internal and external audiences. As a provider of a Loan Origination System (LOS) platform, the Technical Writer will focus on producing high-quality documentation that supports our LOS platform, including user guides, integration guides, and release notes.
The Technical Writer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and support, to ensure clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that enhances the customer experience and supports internal operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and Maintain Documentation: Develop and regularly update user guides, integration guides, and internal technical documentation.
- Release Notes: Author and distribute clear and concise release notes for customers, outlining updates, new features, and fixes.
- Technical Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand documentation for a variety of audiences, including non-technical users.
- Standardization: Establish and enforce standards for documentation style, format, and structure.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product management, development, and support teams to gather the information necessary for accurate and comprehensive documentation.
- Version Control: Ensure all documentation is current and accurately reflects the latest product updates and features.
- Customer Engagement: Partner with customer success teams to address gaps in documentation and improve user experience.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a technical writer, preferably in the software or technology industry.
- Experience creating customer-facing documentation such as user guides, integration guides, and release notes.
- Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and document complex technical concepts.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Microsoft Word, MadCap Flare, or similar).
- Familiarity with version control systems and content management tools is a plus.
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of software development processes and terminology.
- Experience working in agile environments.
