DoStuff is What To Do In 20+ markets. We’re a locally-powered team that exists to answer the question, "What am I going to do tonight?" for our users. Through our constantly updated show calendar, curated guides, daily emails, and social channels, Do214 (Dallas), Do210 (San Antonio), and Do713 (Houston) are the premier event discovery platform for anyone who wants to get more out in these great Texas cities.
As the DoStuff Sports Content Associate, your mission is to help curate compelling sports-centric content for our website, email, and social media channels across these sites with a focus on growing our sports audience. Your goal is to make DoSports - Texas the best possible sports resource for answering the question, “What game am I going to catch tonight?”.
Our Content Associates are organized, detail-oriented all-stars who are immersed in Texas’s sports & cultural landscape. You’ll support the voice of an established brand and create what DoSports Texas looks like across all channels through your effectiveness, wit, and knowledge of the field.
This is a part-time, 20 hrs a week, remote or hybrid position, based in Dallas / SATX / Houston / Austin.
Your role:
- Manage sports event listings in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston.
- Curate listings weekly to ensure the front page of DoSports is an accurate reflection of the best sports things to do in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston.
- Scour the internet for sports events in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston to add.
- Curate collections of events that are relevant as needed.
- Execute giveaways & contests: Work with stakeholders and reach out to local partners in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston to set up and execute ticket giveaways using the DoStuff software platform.
- Communicate with the voice & tone representative of the DoSports brand.
- Email Production: Use our Email Service Provider’s tools to build 1 email newsletter per week per market from content you have curated.
- Editorial Production: Build sports editorial pages as needed in sync with current trends.
- Social media: Curate weekly social media content for inclusion on the main Do214, Do210, Do713 channels.
You are:
- Strongly interested or involved in sports culture (multi-sport fan, games to watch parties, fitness, rec.)
- A talented short-form writer with a defined voice.
- Detail-oriented. You can spot a typo before all of your friends.
- Following the BEST sports people and brands on social media.
- Going out regularly – to sporting events, watch parties, happy hours, and more.
- In the flow of local Texas sports news and culture.
- Intrinsically motivated. You don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to be productive and efficient.
- Punctual.
- Regularly reading and listening to sports and culture hubs like Ringer, BarStool, ESPN, 247Sports, etc.
- Subscribe to (and enjoy reading) national and local sports email newsletters.
- Already use Do210, Do214, Do713, or Do512.
- Have sports or culture media industry experience.
- Have a proven track record of increasing digital audiences.
- Know your way around Google Analytics, Asana, and/or Beehiive.
- Maintain badass social media accounts that we can check out.
