Job Summary
The Authorization Clerk is responsible for completing authorizations for scheduled tests/procedures/surgeries and SNF/LTC authorizations.
Job Duties Processes Procedure/Surgery Authorizations Processes outpatient Authorizations Processes Authorization for SNF/LTC Checks Patient Insurance Benefits and Eligibility Notifies clinical staff of Authorization Determination Works closely with the Scheduling Department Enters Authorizations into the Computer System Demonstrates Good Customer Service Skills Completes Referrals Performs other duties as assigned Other Info:
Lifting Requirements:Semi- Sedentary: Sits and walks throughout workdayGenerally lifting objects not more than 10 lbs. and/or carrying objects weighing 10 lbs
