Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with all aspects of civil engineering design including layout, grading, road design, drainage, utilities, and erosion control.
- Analyze topographic data and create grading models in Civil 3D.
- Prepare drawings in a manner consistent with company standards and client requirements for format, standard, and quality.
- Develop or modify project documents based on rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other data received from Engineers.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing submittal packages, supporting calculations, quantity and cost estimates, project schedules, and other related project management duties.
- Assist project manager / project engineer with consultant and project team coordination
- Maintain knowledge of governmental regulations, codes, and ordinances to apply them to plans.
- Assists in the development of new CAD standards and processes.
- May travel to job sites for observation and to perform field measurements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good understanding and knowledge of functional areas of civil engineering, including site layout, grading, stormwater design, sewer and water design, traffic control and safety, roadway design, right of ways, and fieldwork.
- Strong understanding of construction process, design constraints, and required deliverables.
- Good understanding of cross-discipline needs for continuous coordination with other architects and engineers.
- Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2018 or higher version.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement.
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain, climb steps or ladder, and tolerate airborne environmental nuisances associated with building construction sites.
- Ability to visually survey, measure and assess project site, site elements, and project while under construction.

Requirements
- Associate degree in related field
- 5 or more years of related work experience that includes experience in Civil 3D design, preparing design drawings, plans, sections, and details. Survey experience is a plus.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
