Job Summary: California public schools are actively hiring passionate and dedicated Visual Arts Teachers at all levels—elementary, middle, and high school—for the upcoming school year. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned visual arts curriculum suitable for diverse student populations and grade levels.
- Teach foundational and advanced techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture, digital media, ceramics, and other visual art forms.
- Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages students to explore artistic creativity and express themselves.
- Evaluate student artwork and provide constructive, ongoing feedback to students and families.
- Organize student art exhibitions, showcases, and participate in school-wide and community arts events.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to enhance student achievement and enrich the school's arts culture.
- Maintain organized classroom management aligned with district policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Single Subject Credential in Art or eligibility to obtain credential (California offers credential reciprocity for out-of-state educators).
- English Learner (EL) Authorization or eligibility to obtain from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Previous experience teaching visual arts to diverse student populations preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering creativity, inclusion, and artistic expression for all students.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to actively engage students in hands-on artistic activities.
- Effective visual and auditory capabilities to instruct and guide artistic projects and critique student work.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Salary & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $56,155 – $117,259 annually, based on education and experience.
Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement contributions. - Additional stipends available for advanced degrees or extra responsibilities.
