The Senior Design Manager leads the project design team,consisting of engineers, designers, and support staff toproduce design deliverables and support construction inaccordance with the contract.
Explore your tasks and responsibilitiesEnsures the overall project design and production processis conducted following the prescribed Company processes andprocedures and is in accordance with the stipulated projectbudget and schedule (including planning, monitoring andreporting)
Ensures the project is following the basis of design byperforming inter-disciplinary quality, coordination and spacemanagement reviews via weekly reviews with project teams.
Ensures the project is adhering to a strict changemanagement process in accordance with project budget andschedule
Executes and enforces the Project Execution Plan (PEP)including updating the PEP and associated material as neededwhen project conditions change
Confirms to Project Manager adequate design and productionresources are assigned to meet the project's overall cost,quality and schedule commitments as well as ensuring theforecast is current in Manpower Management System (MMS)
Single point of contact for all design related issuesinternally and externally, representing the overall project incommunications with the client, having final technicalaccountability for overall project design and production(includes managing consultants not managed under otherrespective Disciplines)
Oversees the Project VDC Coordination ensuring adequatehardware and software availability for project team includingmanaging record drawings documentation, operation andmaintenance manuals and hand over documentation

High School Diploma or GED required
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the capacity tomaintain information confidentiality
Excellent time management skills with a strong work ethic
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
Must be a strong team player with an ability to buildeffective working relationships with individuals, departmentleads, and client representatives
Energetic and self-motivated
Ability to mentor and train junior staff
Leads the development of project budget and schedule tomeet requirements
Ability to effectively lead teams ranging from 10-100+individuals. Ability to resolve conflict and solve problemswhile leading by example
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Working knowledge of building components, process,mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
Project Management Professional (PMP) CertificationpreferredProfessional Engineering or Architect License preferred
