Senior Associate, Social Media Content Creator (Finance)
ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
As The Knot's Associate Social Media Content Creator, you will drive the creative content that engages and delights our social community. With proven experience growing the results of a comparable or larger Instagram brand, a passion for storytelling, and a collaborative approach, you'll elevate our social channels to new heights. Reporting to the Manager, Social Media, you'll play a key role in bringing the brand and social strategy to life with user-first content.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ideation: Develop original, social-first content ideas aligned with The Knot's brand and strategy. Pitch and conceptualize ideas as needed.
- Content Planning & Briefing: Manage additional content contributors (e.g., editors, vendors, employees) to supplement the organic social content plan. Create detailed briefs, provide feedback, and edit content.
- Content Creation: Shoot, direct, and edit high-quality video and photo content optimized for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms. Apply evolving content capture and editing techniques to produce engaging, attention-grabbing material.
- Copywriting: Write compelling, on-brand captions, scripts, and other copy.
- Production: Plan, manage, and execute social-first content capture for brand shoots, The Knot Magazine shoots, influencer trips, and campaigns.
- Asset Management: Organize and maintain content assets to ensure accessibility and quality control for future cross-channel use.
- Publishing: Schedule or publish content and add relevant tags in The Knot's social media management system.
- Social Style Guide: Edit and maintain social style guide in partnership with Brand Creative team.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:
- 2+ years in a creative or content-focused role, ideally with a leading agency or brand.
- Expertise in Instagram, TikTok, and platform-specific content strategies.
- Mastery of phone content capturing and native or desktop editing.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and video editing tools.
- Experience using social data and insights to guide content decisions.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to take feedback and iterate quickly.
- Familiarity with Asana or other project management tools.
- Online portfolio showcasing relevant work.
- Bonus: Skills in After Effects or animation, visual/video styling, or experience with the wedding industry.
- Creative Edge: Original, conceptual thinker with endless well of inspired ideas.
- Content Expertise: Track record of producing successful content for high-performing social brand(s).
- Social Media Acumen: Strong understanding of social platforms, pop culture trends, and content best practices for each platform.
- Proactivity: A self-starter eager to drive the success of organic social channels.
