PLEASE NOTE: ONLY CANDIDATES WITH SUBSTANTIAL KID PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION!
Responsibilities include:
- Manage and direct one or more product lines from ideation to production, including providing direction to the product development team in kid and retail trends, product niches, and opportunities.
- Development of new product positioning, including product name, identification of features/benefits, play pattern, packaging direction, etc.
- Establishing and tracking to strategic marketing objectives and P&L/margin goals.
- Develop and execute strategic marketing promotions/retail events, including mass and specialty channel brand building tactics (POP, Events, Contests, Print and TV Advertising) and national partner promotions (e.g., Burger King, Kraft Foods).
- Direct product and category research program, directing the research team to obtain and utilize product, trend, and competitive research information.
- Develop and direct the creative strategy, including outside agencies (Advertising, PR, Promotions, etc.).
- Identify new product/category opportunities, including development of a 2-year marketing plan.
- Product and Marketing presentations to internal and external groups, including product presentations to buyers, agencies, and shareholders.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess 3-4 years of kid-directed product management/marketing experience (Toy experience strongly preferred).
- Strong team building, leadership, and organizational skills.
- A passion for delivering great play experiences to kids.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical skills.
- Ability to creatively apply skills and techniques to solve problems.
- Entrepreneurial-minded; wants to take on new challenges.
- Good sense of humor.
Salary: $110k + bonus
