The award-winning Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is currently hiring for a Multiservices Librarian within the Library Operations Department.
General Summary
Under the supervision of the assigned supervisor, Multiservice Librarians perform professional public service work supporting the Adult Services and YPL/Children’s Services Departments at various library branches. This position may act as Person-In-Charge (PIC) as needed and may supervise lower-level staff in that capacity.
This is a district-wide position requiring travel to all 25 branches and a flexible schedule to accommodate short-notice changes in time and location.
Description of Hours and Wages
The pay range is $70,051 to $93,875 annually, with typical starting at the minimum. Employees are eligible for merit and COLA increases annually.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), FLSA exempt position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide reference, reader services, and support to children, young adults, and adults, utilizing library systems and resources.
- Assist patrons with collections and library materials, including automated systems and non-book materials.
- Maintain knowledge of library collections and services.
- Assist with collection development activities such as book ordering and weeding.
- Maintain collections and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Interact extensively with patrons and staff via phone, in person, and email.
- Promote library activities and services through planning and programs.
- Perform shelf checks and maintain the physical condition of collections.
- Update and manage program calendars and conduct story hours or programs as assigned.
- Collaborate with community groups and conduct tours to promote library services.
- Decorate and organize children’s areas for seasonal and special events.
- Utilize personal computers and library technology tools.
- Operate office equipment and attend training sessions.
- Maintain a safe environment for staff and patrons.
- Arrange displays and manage records and reports.
Training and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
- Experience retrieving information from electronic devices.
License, Certificates, or Requirements
- Completion of LVCCLD’s Person-in-Charge (PIC) training or within 12 months of employment.
- District-provided AED/CPR certification within six months, maintained current.
Physical Requirements
Tasks include standing, walking, lifting (up to 20 pounds), bending, reaching, and using office equipment. Tasks require sound and visual perception and oral communication. Work may expose to adverse environmental conditions infrequently.
