What will you do?
A day in the life of a Senior Women's Apparel Designer at Vans looks a little like this.
Vans is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Women's Apparel Designer to lead the design development of our Women’s assortments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, trend analysis and team management, with a passion for creating innovative apparel.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
Design Development: Drive the design development of Women’s assortments in line with seasonal concepts. Conduct trend and business analysis to inform design decisions. Create sketches, initial tech packs, fit direction, fabric selection and developments. Allocate colors, develop washes and finishes, and manage submit and bulk approvals. Team Management: Manage and motivate the Women’s Apparel Design team through the design development of seasonal collections and special projects. Create work practices through calendar, process/tools efficiencies, and improvements. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the team. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with regional and global cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, Consumer Insights, etc.) to facilitate the GTM collection pipeline. Oversee the process from pre-season research and development, design and cost-engineering, to bulk approvals. Ensure alignment and effective communication across all teams involved.

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5+ years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Ability to translate insights and inspiration into compelling apparel concepts. Ability to conduct trend analysis and market research to inform design decisions. Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and manufacturing processes. Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., Merchandising, Product Development) to ensure alignment and effective communication. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and planning abilities. Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Hiring Range
$96,768.00 USD - $120,960.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential
: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
