UI Health Care is looking for its next Web Content Creative Media Developer to support the optimizing of web content’s structure, presentation, and engagement across UI Health Care’s core websites: UIHEALTHCARE.ORG, UIHC.ORG, UICHILDRENS.ORG, and MEDICINE.UIOWA.EDU.
This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work closely with marketing and communications teams to assist in creating and updating content for web audiences, ensuring it is engaging and accessible.
- Act as an advisor for stakeholders, guiding internal teams on best practices for clearly presenting web content.
- Edit and curate content for the website, following best practices in digital storytelling and audience engagement.
- Support the use of web analytics to evaluate content performance and provide suggestions for improving audience engagement and search engine optimization (SEO).
- Stay informed about new digital trends, tools, and techniques to improve web content and audience interaction.
- Respond to edit requests across various websites and work with other teams to ensure consistency across the website.
- Help maintain website accessibility standards and support efforts to create a user-friendly online experience.
- Collaborate with web development and communications teams to ensure brand consistency and smooth operations across digital platforms.
- Participate in training sessions to help others learn to manage and improve web content.
- Contribute to digital projects that enhance the organization's online presence.
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6 months of professional experience in digital communications, web content, or online media.
- Basic understanding of creating and managing web content with a focus on user experience and audience engagement.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with web content management systems (CMS), such as Drupal, WordPress, or similar platforms.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for troubleshooting minor website issues.
- Ability to work well with other teams, such as writers, designers, and developers to create effective digital content.
Desired Qualifications:
- 1 year of professional experience in digital communications, web content, or online media, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with web analytics tools like Google Analytics or other basic tracking platforms.
- Understanding of SEO best practices for improving website visibility and experience.
- Interest or experience in digital accessibility and web standards.
- Willingness to learn and apply new digital content strategies and tools.
