About the Company:
Higher Medicine (HM) aims to usher in a new age of functional cures for Friedreich’s ataxia (FA) patients with clinically-validated p38 MAP Kinase inhibitors and other safe small molecules. HM will also establish leadership in the budding field of epigenetic therapy by developing a novel platform to cure FA, Alzheimer’s, certain cancers, and other serious conditions sharing the DNA repeat expansion mechanism. We seek to break frontiers as done in Cystic Fibrosis through scientific leaps comparable to the rise of mRNA or CRISPR technologies.
The Opportunity:
The Grant Manager will drive non-equity grant funding. The role will start upon closing the seed financing and report to the CEO.
Key Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Write grant applications and oversee the processes; Drive grant/non-dilutive funding strategy and applications to win awards from various sources, including but not limited to NIH, NSF, State agencies, DoD/CDMRP, Private Foundations, Patient Advocacy Groups, and other sources.
- Own and update external communications on the company website, LinkedIn and social media communication streams, patient advocacy group outreach, and other tasks as needed.
- Legal and contract management.
Education & Experience:
· An undergraduate degree in life sciences discipline is required. An advanced degree in life sciences discipline is strongly preferred.
· Experience in bioscience grant writing, review, evaluation, and other related domains.
· Experience in key operations leadership/management role in biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
