Field Installation Engineer (CCTV/Video Surveillance/Security Systems)
We are currently assisting our client, a leader in the security systems service industry, in their search for a Field Installation Engineer (CCTV / Video Surveillance / Security Systems) , for their Raleigh, NC location. (There is a 2nd position open for their Jacksonville, FL location, as well!)

Salary Range : $85K - $115K salary base, expedited career pathing track, with stellar benefits package, PTO, 401k with match, tuition reimbursement, and much more!

- 3+ years in security system configuration, installation, and commissioning with a cybersecurity/IT focus
- This person will handle system buildouts, upgrades and system commissioning support
- Preferred Certifications: Genetec
- College degree is NOT required

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Installation Engineer (CCTV / Video Surveillance / Security Systems) to manage system buildouts, upgrades, and provide system commissioning support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting security systems, including access control and video management systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and integration of security technologies, while providing top-notch technical support for clients.
Responsibilities:
- System Buildouts : Lead the design, installation, and configuration of security systems, including access control and video surveillance solutions, while ensuring secure implementation.
- Upgrades & Patch Management : Manage and execute system upgrades, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and implementing security patches to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- System Commissioning & Compliance : Ensure all components of security systems are fully functional, meet performance specifications, and comply with cybersecurity best practices.
- Technical Support & Incident Response: Troubleshoot system issues during and after installation, with a focus on cybersecurity risk mitigation, encrypted system communication, and access control hardening.
- Cybersecurity & IT Integration : Implement cybersecurity best practices, including certificate issuance and management, secure encryption for device and database communication, and system hardening protocols.
- Network Security & Infrastructure : Work closely with IT teams to ensure the secure integration of security systems with broader IT infrastructure, including network segmentation and firewall policies.
- Documentation & Compliance Reporting : Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incident reports, and compliance measures to align with industry standards.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing : Provide cybersecurity awareness training to end-users and internal teams, ensuring secure system operation and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Security System Expertise : CCure 9000 Enterprise certification (preferred) or equivalent experience in access control system deployment, Lenel OnGuard certification (highly preferred), proficiency with Milestone Video Systems and Genetec video management platforms, strong understanding of security technologies, including access control systems, IP-based video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
- Cybersecurity & IT Knowledge : Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, system hardening, and secure communication protocols, experience with certificate issuance, management, and PKI authentication, understanding of network security principles, including VLAN segmentation, firewalls, and encryption standards, knowledge of database security, access control lists (ACLs), and encrypted communication between devices.
- Technical & Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both security systems and network-related issues, experience in security system commissioning and post-installation support, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and IT/security teams, ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage time-sensitive tasks.
Preferred : 3+ years of experience in security system configuration, installation, and commissioning with a cybersecurity/IT focus, industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are a plus, experience implementing cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) for physical security systems.
