Trillium Professional is seeking an RF Engineer for a full-time position with our direct client located in Inglewood, CA.
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer and Sr. Systems Engineer, the Associate RF Engineer will be involved in the entire process from proposal to end-of-life in the design, development, and maintenance of high-power Solid-State Amplifiers and Systems. The role involves collaboration with engineers, managers, QA, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs regarding functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic schedules, and adherence to development principles.
Essential Functions
- Design RF high-power solid-state amplifiers using simulation tools such as HFSS, AWR MWO, and ADS, covering 1 MHz to 6 GHz, utilizing LDMOS, GaAs, and GaN devices to output > 1000W.
- Conduct amplifier characterization under high-power conditions and integrate the amplifier into assemblies.
- Analyze simple to medium complexity analog, digital, and RF circuits.
- Create test procedures and schematic diagrams; assist in design reviews under senior engineers’ guidance.
- Support engineering activities as directed.
- Address technical issues during testing and integration phases.
- Generate and review technical documentation, including user manuals for delivered products.
- Establish product design criteria, determine material requirements, and define operational capabilities and limitations.
- Manage projects related to their designs and ensure smooth workflow hand-offs within the company.
Key Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Two to three years of experience in RF/Microwave/Aerospace Engineering environments.
- Strong foundation in RF/Microwave theory and principles through coursework and lab work.
- Knowledge of digital and analog electronics; eager to learn and contribute in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with RF/microwave measurement instruments such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to liaise effectively with customers, manufacturing, testing, and subcontractor personnel.
- Knowledge of device technology and skills in design, validation, and characterization of analog circuits.
- Flexible, motivated team player capable of prioritizing tasks and communicating effectively.
