Role:
Responsible for implementing marketing strategies to develop a strong network of prospective clients. Develop leads and contact them via the phone and/or face-to-face to market insurance products. Service existing clients and conduct annual reviews and seek opportunities to present products to enhance their insurance portfolio.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage sales strategy and approach in order to generate new business in targeted market sectors by creating solid strategies.
- Present product offerings to prospective clients that meet their needs and financial goals.
- Execute prospect campaigns in each market sector, designed to drive qualified new business leads.
- Uncover and close new sales opportunities by networking to increase contacts.
- Track and provide reporting to Agency Manager detailing call activity, pipeline updates, and leads generated.
- Assumes responsibility for duties as required or assigned.
Performance Measurements:

Agent functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures.
2.
Solid business relations exist with customers. Customer insurance problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved. Effective assistance is provided with these problems.
3.
Good working relationships and coordination exist with other agents and management. Appropriate assistance is provided to other staff as needed. Supervisor is appropriately informed of area activities or problems.
4.
Annual sales goals met.
5.
The professional reputation of the agency is maintained and conveyed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education
Licensed Agent with the State of Minnesota.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills
Ability to pass a background check. Meet Minnesota continuing education requirements.
Physical Requirements
FINGER DEXTERITY: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
TALKING: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
REPETITIVE MOTION: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
