Are you detail-oriented and task-driven? We are seeking an
Office Specialist -PSI Writer
to erform a variety of working-level, complex clerical duties as needed to provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support for the Sheriff's Office.
The
Office Specialist- PSI Writer
is a full-time, benefitted position. The hourly wage for this position starts at $20.33.
Available benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance on the first day of employment, retirement contributions, bereavement leave, and 14 paid holidays. Full-time employees also receive 18 days of personal leave in the first year of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Office Specialist-PSI Writer will prepare pre-sentence investigative reports for local courts, data entry of information into the probation records management system, assist probationers and other public at the probation office window, interview offenders for report writing processes and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from High School and coursework in general office practices and secretarial duties; AND two years of general office experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge: Working Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, various numeric and alpha record systems; MS Office, Excel, Word, Quicken, etc.; general office management practices and procedures of the Sheriff's Office; efficient and accurate writing and grammar skills; the civil functions of the Sheriff's Office and its interrelationship with other county departments; interpersonal communication skills; computer terminal operation and programs unique to civil document processing requirements. Some knowledge of law enforcement software; of administrative procedures; of legal processes associated with the maintenance of public records and documents; GRAMA; interpersonal communication skills, bookkeeping and basic accounting.
