TITLE: Business Plan Writer
LOCATION: Remote based in the USA
HOURS: 80 hours of work over the 3-4 weeks.
DURATION: 3-4 week assignment. Project work.
GREAT CANDIDATE: Good understanding of numbers, understanding retail leases, ideally background in acquisition of a mall, needs to be a very good writer, possess good graphic skills (can take a wordy document and transform it into graphics), and have editing and grammar skills. Must have experience writing business plans.
WRITING EXAMPLES/PORTFOLIO: Please include with submission.
INTERVIEW PROCESS: 1 video interview.
SUMMARY:
The Business Development Writer will be working on business plans and due diligence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Helps strategize on how to respond to proposals.
- Develops proposal content, presentation content, and business plans, presentations, and other interactive marketing and pitch materials for new business development pursuits.
- Assists with maintaining marketing database/library, including standard marketing collateral and case studies.
- Develops client-specific presentation materials.
- Writes case studies, letters, communications, professional profiles, and market reports.
- Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year institution and a minimum of two to four years of related experience and/or training.
MUST HAVE SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
- Ability to write business plans in a pre-designed style and format.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES:
None.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to internal clients.
- Ability to effectively present information.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles.
- Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.
- Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
- Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.
- May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.
- May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.
