Front-End Software Engineer (Hybrid or Remote)

RouteSmart Technologies, a leader in vehicle route optimization software technology, is seeking a front-end software engineer for their development team in Melville, NY. This role will be responsible for designing, coding, and supporting multiple websites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation, from layout to function.

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000-$110,000 per year. RouteSmart Technologies has different base pay ranges for different US locations, and pay will vary based on experience.

This position is hybrid or remote; however, we are currently seeking candidates domiciled in the following states: Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Create site layout/user interface using standard HTML/CSS practices
2. Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code following best software development practices
3. Identify and fix errors in code effectively
4. Integrate data from various back-end services and databases, collaborating with web designers to match visual design intent

Requirements

• Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, web functions, and ECMA Script standards
• Experience creating Web Applications using JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS and Material UI
• Knowledge of web application security, session management, and development best practices
• Hands-on experience with making calls to Web Services
• Experience with GIS and mapping services is highly beneficial

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a UX designer and/or web developer/front-end developer
• Experience planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and units
