DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Studio Production Support
- Provide technical consultation on the production strategy based on the unique event goals, scope, and vision.
- With the support of the remote engineering team, oversee the design, setup, and configuration of all necessary control room elements to ensure a high-quality event for client productions.
- Oversee the operational approach to fulfill the creative production needs for client events, including but not limited to:
- Technical direction
- Audio mixing
- Robotic cameras
- Virtual platforms
- Graphics
- Video playback
- Streaming
- Lighting design
- Teleprompter
- Execute virtual events on various virtual event platforms such as Global Meet, StreamYard, and Wirecast.
- Develop and document best practices for the studio including maintenance, scheduling, production operations and technologies to ensure top level of production quality and consistency.
- Manage and maintain the production schedule for the San Francisco studio.
- Collaborate with presenters to optimize on-camera performance.
- Recruit, qualify, hire, and manage freelance production staff when needed to support larger productions.
- Perform “post-mortems” of webcasts and fully analyze what went right, what went wrong, and make recommendations for future improvements.
- Make sure all discrepancies are communicated and resolved to the clients’ satisfaction and in a timely manner.
Video Editing Support
- Provide video editing and basic graphics support for news-style corporate video content.
- Work alongside the AVI-SPL Motion Graphics Animator to integrate graphic and animation templates into post-production projects.
- Establish workflows, timelines, and review processes for all editorial content.
- Maintain provided edit system hardware and software.
- Coordinate file delivery and maintain data organization.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Proficient in all industry standard web streaming and encoding platforms and software.
- Experience with studio production equipment including video switchers, robotic cameras, audio, and graphics.
- High level technical skill set including operations & postproduction editing.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical challenges pertaining to production equipment supporting the control room and studio.
- At least 7 years of experience in production, broadcast, events, or another similar field.
- A track record of being organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and working well in a team atmosphere as well as having the capability to work well individually, is essential.
- Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence, and the ability to get along with coworkers and customers.
- Mature judgment to make sound decisions based on objective evidence, customer and VideoLink needs, and cost considerations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including necessary paper and/or computer documentation.
- Skills in directing live television with an eye for detail and ability to make recommendations for improving quality in all aspects of the production.
- Self-motivated, organized, and resourceful with strong work ethic.
- Able to work independently.
- Attention to detail.
- Work performance and cooperation that serves as a role model for all. Ability to maintain a positive attitude, even under stress.
- Good technical knowledge of traditional broadcast and digital broadcast equipment.
- Superb customer service skills.
- Strong leadership skills interacting with coworkers and vendors.
- Ability to train others, and to learn from others.
Nice-to-have skills
- Knowledge of Ross product suite including Carbonite, Graphite, XPression and Tria.
- Experience with digital monitor walls and video graphic displays.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Travel required based on requirements and location of productions and service needs including meetings at client offices and AVI-SPL offices.
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and perform overhead work.
