Senior UX Designer, Dynamics 365 Finance
Microsoft’s Business Applications and Platform Studio is looking for a Senior UX Designer to help drive innovation in our AI Enterprise Resource Planning (AI ERP) software.
The Company and Team
At Microsoft, we have a clear mission and bold ambitions: empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more through our technology and innovation. To make that a reality, our D365 Finance team is reimagining how organizations create, maintain, and report on their financial records with the
infusion of powerful AI capabilities.
Our team’s charter is to empower and enhance Finance professionals by making data entry easier, designing real-time dashboards, automated workflows, and robust reporting. We drive to improve their efficiency, reduce errors, and foster collaboration, all with the power of AI as their Copilot.
We’re a growing team and if you’re a curious
UX designer who loves to learn, create, innovate, and empower users to achieve more,
we’d love for you to be a part of our mission to revolutionize Finance together!
The Role
You’ve
worked on multiple digital projects
already and you're interested in learning more about the financial industry and building AI-driven solutions.
You’re
experienced with component-based design practices
and contributing to multi-product design systems, building end-to-end visual flows and detailed visual specs.
You enjoy
working with multi-disciplinary teams
(all the way from product managers and engineers to data scientists and researchers) and
have strong written and verbal communication skills
that can bring your team together to create simple and effective customer experiences.
You're a
tireless advocate for the customer
and excited about creating and iterating on product designs, discovering what works best and applying your knowledge to create incredible software products that will change the world for the better.
The role’s broad scope will give you ample room to flex your design muscles — both on projects that have immediate impact on our Microsoft business applications portfolio and our greater AI investments, but also explorations that shape our long-term strategy, vision and the UX direction of the company.
This position offers partial flexibility in work locations, with some on-site presence necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or higher degree in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND experience working in product or service design OR equivalent industry experience.
A portfolio that effectively reflects your experience and clearly details the design journey in your work across information architecture design, usability, interaction, and visual design for UI (Please indicate your specific roles and contributions for each project submitted as part of the portfolio).
Ability to present your designs and articulate your rationale supporting your projects submitted as part of your portfolio.
Experience working in agile and lean methodologies in a multi-disciplinary working environment.
Experience supporting and leveraging User Research in the design process to optimize your designs for customers.
Demonstrated understanding of working with or contributing to comprehensive design systems and holistic UI toolkits.
Proficiency in modern component-based design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and the Adobe Creative suite).
Ability to create highly polished UX documentation, functional specs, prototypes, mockups, user flows and other communication artifacts.
Ability to drive success through moments of ambiguity, helping drive clarity amongst the team.
Awareness of inclusive design principles including accessibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present your work to peers across disciplines.
Experience scoping, prioritizing, and estimating goal-oriented design efforts accurately.
Experience designing end-to-end enterprise-scale cloud software or services.
Experience designing for AI-driven solutions.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. These requirements include but are not limited to the Microsoft Cloud Background Check, which will be required to pass upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Responsibilities
Be an avid customer advocate, mastering customer needs and using feedback, user goals, data, and business requirements to drive clear UX direction on the product.
Work closely with product managers and engineers, bringing a purely customer-centric mindset to the table to deliver high-quality outcomes that empower customers to do more.
Produce designs that illustrate UI excellence and transpire clear and objective user experiences. Deliverables may include storyboards, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and vision pieces.
Embody the "One Microsoft" motto and extend your design thinking beyond your own project, considering holistic company value in every solution you build.
Initiate and facilitate UX team-building efforts such as design reviews, workshops, pitch decks or other materials that help align people on common goals/direction.
Contribute to a welcoming and safe working space, fostering a diverse and inclusive team environment.
