Your New Role…
The UX Researcher is responsible for exploring insights about users through a variety of methods whether it be surveys, interviews, data analysis, usability studies, diary studies, and ethnographic observation, or new methods. UX Researchers own the research process from screening participants and defining test plans to analyzing data and synthesizing results in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
We seek individuals who have a combination of direct-to-consumer product expertise, data literacy, content development and a growth mindset. We are seeking individuals with a mixed-methods background (comfortable with qualitative and quantitative methods) who will design and execute studies that address both user behavior and attitudes, using the right methodology for the right question.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Develop research plans in partnership with Product leads, Product Designers, and other stakeholders, choosing the methods (qualitative, quantitative, mixed) to best inform research needs.
• Conduct research that drives product insights to inform decision making and prioritization of product features/enhancements that increase user engagement, conversion and retention.
• Effectively communicate findings from variety of inputs including analytics, survey results, user behavior, and other data to craft actionable and unbiased recommendations.
• Establish strong and productive relationships with product management and cross-functional teams to understand the needs of the business and use that knowledge to inform research strategy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally around strategic initiatives with larger Research & Analytics team to align resources and methodology with business needs
Qualifications & Experience…
• 3 or more years of experience as a UX researcher or research analyst; internships or graduate level work considered in lieu of experience.
• D2C experience researching touchpoints in the acquisition and conversion funnel.
• Experience working with cross functional teams in support of product development
• Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver complex messages to diverse audiences.
• Proficient in MS Suite, usability study software, and/or statistical research software.
The Nice to Haves…
• BA Human Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology or Social Sciences.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and natural curiosity.
• Experience working in digital news or a strong interest in news.
