Senior Manager, Integrated Communications Planning
at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. The Integrated Communications Planning team drives effective, strategic communications and collaboration throughout Corporate Communications and the enterprise, serving as the “offensive coordinator” for planning, messaging and tactics to advance the organization’s mission and drive greater awareness of the Edison business.
The Senior Manager will lead a team to develop and implement strategic communications plans to achieve corporate goals. In this role, you’ll lead a team of four to six advisors, develop communications plans to support portfolios and projects, drive consistency in topical narratives through creative storytelling across channels, oversee quality control for messaging, ensure performance indicators align with objectives and optimize campaigns accordingly. As Senior Manager, you will ensure communications are aligned to company goals and support policy, reputation and brand needs. You will coach team members and engage in performance management of employees and manage budgets, where appropriate. In addition, you will also serve as PIO during Incident Management Team activations and after hours (including nights and weekends) on call duty on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities
Evaluates the broader impacts of the internal or external communication strategy on company reputation and integrates feedback; collaborates across departments to ensure a unified company message
Directs the creation and development of press releases, media alerts, and other communications materials
Partners with public relations agencies and provide internal coordination and leadership visibility to address external corporate reputation issues, crisis management, and external media needs
Proactively manages organization-wide communications cadence and leadership visibility around critical internal or external issues to win hearts and minds of SCE colleagues
Liaises with IT and external vendors to manage the company's internal and external corporate website, including content generation, design, and ongoing maintenance
Understands key business and organizational messaging objectives to drive the development of an overarching media communication strategy that complements traditional marketing and brand building efforts
Designs public relations campaigns and outlines recommendations, multifaceted tactics, audience development, and metrics for measurable reporting in collaboration with team leads of various departments
Develops briefing materials and public speaking/ media training for company spokespeople, drafts key messaging and QA material, and facilitates interviews and speaking engagements for company spokespeople, providing feedback as needed
Acts as the key expert for Southern California Edison's organizational reputation and assesses and mitigates reputational risk associated with business activities, including proposed activities
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
Experience in communications or marketing.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism or related field.
Experience gauging a campaign's effectiveness through data and analytics.
Project management experience.
Knowledge of AP Style.
Experience with internal and external communications, methodologies, tools and researching trends and technology.
Strategic problem solver with attention to tactical execution and detail.
Excellent writing, editing and verbal communications.
Ability to express complex thoughts and plans through PowerPoint presentations.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Comfortability with ambiguity and demonstrated agility, with a sense of urgency to work under pressure on multiple projects.
Skill in linking communications plans to business outcomes and cross-company partnerships.
Additional Information
This position’s work mode is
hybrid.
The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
