The Graphic Design Assistant will support the design team by assisting in the creation and preparation of artwork for decorated apparel. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about graphic design, eager to learn, and excited about applying their skills to the apparel industry. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced designers and gain hands-on experience in the field while developing your design expertise. This position is a part of the Product and Commercialization Departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design team to help create and refine custom designs for various decorated apparel items such as t-shirts, hoodies, hats, and more.
- Assist in preparing production-ready files for screen printing, embroidery, heat transfers, and other decoration methods, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Create mockups and visual presentations for clients and internal teams, ensuring designs are on-brand and visually appealing.
- Follow brand guidelines and ensure that designs maintain a consistent style across all products.
- Organize design assets, templates, and project files for easy access by the design team.
- Have a working knowledge of various apparel decoration methods, including screen printing, embroidery, direct-to-garment (DTG), and more.
- Work closely with senior designers, production teams, and account managers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of designs.
- Research and stay informed on current trends in graphic design, fashion, and apparel decoration to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Requirements
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in the apparel or fashion industry, or relevant internship experience.
- Software Skills: Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong Design Fundamentals: Basic understanding of design principles such as typography, color theory, composition, and layout.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed instructions, check for accuracy, and ensure designs are production ready.
- Team-Oriented: Collaborative and open to receiving feedback and learning from senior designers and team members.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with different printing and embroidery techniques (screen printing, heat transfers, embroidery, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with creating mockups or 3D visualizations for apparel designs.
- A portfolio that showcases your design skills, even if it's from personal or academic projects related to graphic design or apparel.

The starting salary for this full-time position is between $55,000 and $70,000, based on qualifications. However, there is a broader salary range that allows for future growth and advancement. Salary levels are determined by factors such as the role, experience level, and job location. Within the established range, compensation is influenced by skills, competencies, relevant experience, education, training, and market demand.
