Boswell has a rare career growth opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager in our Highway Department with experience in securing and managing NJDOT and other similar Agencies! In this role you will work closely with our existing clients, manage projects and design process and support staff out of our South Hackensack office. In addition, the qualified candidate will have the ability to secure additional work and clients as part of their own business development responsibilities.( This position will work closely with the staff and initially will require the candidate to report to the South Hackensack office five (5) days a week which may be modified to a hybrid work schedule as the candidate becomes acclimated with the staff and processes at Boswell.

Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all phases of highway design projects from concept development through final design under direction of the Head of Department
Prepare proposals, and qualification statements for contracts/clients with a focus on the NJDOT and other similar transportation agencies
Manage existing client relationships and engagement with potential new clients
Identify new clients and business development opportunities
Work closely with our new and reoccurring clients in preparation of upcoming projects
Perform detailed highway analysis, design and assessments
Work with subordinate staff on a day-to-day basis
Lead and Mentor junior engineering staff
Ensure satisfactory performance of staff on specific projects
Manage the status of multiple projects including all aspects of scope, schedule and budget
Effectively coordinate project work internally with other Departments as well as with clients on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects
Develop plans and specifications in accordance with client requirements, adhering to both internal and client-based standards, policies and procedures
Remain current in latest engineering techniques and practices
Represent Boswell at meeting including but not limited to project meetings, public hearings, business development meetings, some of which may occur outside of normal working hours
Perform other duties as assigned and if required
Requirements:
Bachelor degree (BS) in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New Jersey is required
15+ years of demonstrated experience in engineering with a minimum of 8 years in related project management experience
Significant experience working with the NJDOT
Experience working with similar transportation agencies
Interpersonal communication skills
Excellent writing, editing and document organizational skills
Current US work eligibility is required.
Comprehensive knowledge of and familiarity with technology, software and automated processes in design and construction projects
Experience managing projects utilizing OpenRoads/Microstation preferred
